Dr. Puertas received his degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Valencia (Faculty of Medicine and Odontology) in 1993. Master Diploma of Advanced Studies, Physiology, Pharmacology and Toxycology of the Cardinal Herrera University in Valencia in 2004. Specialist in Clinical Neurophysiology, University Hospital La Fe in Valencia in 1997. Inter-University degree “Wakefulness and Sleep”, Medicine Faculty from the University Montpellier (France) in 1998. Sleep Medicine Minifellowship, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MinnesotaUSA, May-June 2002. Doctor Degree, Cardenal Herrera University-CEU, Valencia, July of 2006.

Since January 1999 is the coordinator of the Neurophysiology Service of the Sleep Disorders Unit, University Hospital of la Ribera, Alzira, Valencia. Associate Professor of the Physiology Department of the Valencia University since October 2001.

Dr. Puertas is author and coauthor of more than 30 scientific articles and book chapters on national and international level. Member of various national and international scientific societies of sleep and its disorders. Since June 2006 he is the President of the Spanish Sleep Society.
